US Visa Streamlined for Tourist Shoppers
February 14, 2012 – Good news for those who want to apply for US visa for tourists!
Just recently, the USA visa application for foreign tourist visas to the United States was ordered to be streamlined by President Barack Obama. This was done in an effort to boost tourism and create jobs, focusing on increasing affluent Chinese and Brazilian visitors.
Last month January 19, 2012, the US President Obama unveiled the modest package of reforms of boosting tourism and travel in front of Cinderella’s Castle at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida.
Florida, whose economy is heavily dependent on the tourist industry, will be a crucial battleground this coming November the time when Obama faces a re-election vote that may hinge on Americans’ perceptions of his handling of the economy.
The American tourism industry and business groups have long lobbied the federal government for the slackening of USA visa restrictions that were tightened in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, attacks.
Last May, business groups began to lobby the federal government in making it easier for tourists on American visa to enter the U.S. from China and Brazil.
US Retailers explained that shoppers from both countries have turned out to be big spenders when they visit, and there is an increase in the demand for visas among Chinese and Brazilians.
Efforts are already underway to streamline the US visa application process for Brazilians and Chinese as President Obama last month issued an executive order of easing the United States visa application process for obtaining visitor visas for Brazil and China.
Obama stated that he wants America to be the top tourist destination in the world as the more tourists come to the US, the more work will be created for the Americans.
The visa changes were Obama’s latest measures in showing to the voters that he is serious about boosting the still sluggish US labor market, as well as showing that he will make the necessary actions whenever possible in the face of election-year gridlock in Congress.
Obama further stated that the new steps would be a great help in cutting through red tape, making it much easier for foreign tourists to come to the United States.
