Israeli Nationals Can Now Be Eligible for E-2 Visa to the US

February 22, 2012 – A new legislation was introduced last February 9 by Rep. Howard Berman that would allow eligible Israelis to acquire a nonimmigrant investor US visa. Also known as the E-2 visa, such privilege of the Israeli nationals should also allow US citizens to have a nonimmigrant visas to Israel.

If an Israeli national gets an E-2 American visa, he will be allowed to work and live in the US so he can be near his business or investments. There are about 79 countries that are already part of such treaties with the United States whose citizens are given an E-2 status. Among these countries are Britain, Montenegro, and Iran.

According to Berman, “encourage Israeli business leaders to invest in the United States and lead to the creation of jobs for American workers” and said that “one of our closest allies in the world and a significant investor in the U.S. economy. The E-2 investor visa program will strengthen the vital U.S.-Israel relationship, boost the American middle class, and help grow the economies of both countries.”

On the other hand, Michael Oren, Israeli Ambassador to the United States, said, “This is a sign of the strengthening relations between the two countries. The new bill will enable business communities in both countries to expand their mutual investments.”

This move will definitely strengthen the economic ties between Israel and the United States. Furthermore, even if the USA visa application is a rigid process, better chances of getting a USA visa are at hand.

All Israelis need to do now is to get US visa info.
